This time round I had the opportunity to try out the new Crazy Horse Single Pass Strap from the vario.sg. I received two 20mm specimens in Coal Black and Indigo Blue. They came at the right time, just when I was thinking of strap options for my recently purchased Seiko Willard SPB151J1 and SPB183J1. Let’s take a look.
This is a one-piece strap with a length of 270mm excluding the buckle. It has a thickness of just under 2mm and is made from soft and rugged leather that is meant to show signs of wear in the forms of scratches and scuff marks that arise from daily use. Eventually, it will attain a distressed look that is unique to the owner based on how he or she wears it. No two of these straps will look the same after being used for a period of time.
The strap comes with two loops, one of them is fixed while the other is movable to help keep the tail end in place. The back of the strap is layered with soft genuine leather that makes it feel comfortable on the wrist. It is stamped with the Vario brand name. The specimens I have came with stainless steel buckle. There is also a brass buckle option available on Vario’s website.

Final thoughts:
This is a very well made strap from vario.sg as always. The leather is soft and extremely comfortable to wear. It is also strong enough to support heavy watches such as the Seiko Captain Willard. It is a very good strap option for pilot and military style watches and also a good alternative to single pass nylon straps. I am certainly looking forward to putting some scratches and marks on it as I use it.
