Orient 60th Anniversary Commemorative Book

Orient released a commemorative book as part of its 60th anniversary celebration. This 200-page book tells the story of Orient including its history, products and expertise. It also features staff from different departments as well as business associates.

I had the opportunity to take a look at it via the local Orient distributor, Big Time. Below are some casual shots taken from the ‘Product Archive’ chapter.

The Orient Star 200 and 300 Metre Divers (Repost)

I saw a black dial Orient 300m diver in the wild today. Saw it when I was queuing up to pay for groceries at the supermarket (NTUC Tanjong Pagar around 7:15pm.). The guy in front of me was wearing the Orient 300m diver on rubber strap.

Earlier today, I was at Big Time and there was a guy who wanted to know the physical differences between the Orient 300m diver and the 200m version (Revolver). I did a post on this topic on my Windows Live Space and it was retrieved to show the customer.

Below is a reproduction of the old post. I have been meaning to archive it here.

Orient Large Rectangular Watch – LERAG001B

Besides round shaped watches, Orient makes a number of rectangular and tonneau shaped watches and I have looked at a couple of them here in the past.

This time round, I had the opportunity to look at the Orient LERAG001B, another rectangular watch by Orient. This model was released some time ago but it was only recently that I had the chance to see it.

Lug Adapters for the Citizen Autozilla NH6930-09F

I bought this Citizen 1000m diver in 2004 and have been wearing it on its original rubber strap for the last six years. It is time for a change but strap options are limited due to its proprietary strap design.

Fortunately, someone in Thailand designed and produced an adapter that enables the watch to have regular lugs and suddenly, a world of strap options became available to the watch.

This time round, I had the opportunity to handle the cool SARB065.

Seiko Starfish Diver – SKZ283K

During the nineties, Seiko made a couple of Kinetic divers that were nicknamed “starfish” due to their unique star shape bezels.

Today, after more than ten years, Seiko came out with a new diver that has a similar bezel design as the original Starfish Kinetic divers. Even though the new diver is powered by the 7S automatic movement and is by no means a reissue, it does look like Seiko has pulled out and reused the bezel design of the Kinetic divers from their design archives.

Orient Poseidon 300m from Brazil – Model# 469SS039

I picked up this Orient 300m diver from a local guy recently and have been wearing it for almost two weeks. This watch is only available in the Brazilian market and is nicknamed “Poseiden” by watch collectors there.

I wore it to two watch shops (Big Time and K2) that I frequent and have received some compliments on it. Here’s a quick review for you.
