This time round I had the opportunity to try out some tapered straps by cheapestnatostraps.com. The two models I have are the Tapered Heritage and the Tapered Nubuck. The strap is 120mm at the long end and 75mm at the short end. It has a thickness of 3mm. Let’s take a look.
Tapered Heritage:
The Tapered Heritage model features a nice vintage style texture that matches well with vintage watches as well as vintage inspired and contemporary pieces. It can be used on both sporty and dressy watches.
Tapered Nubuck:
The Tapered Nubuck model has a casual look or a slightly rugged look if you will. I find it suitable for military/pilot style watches and other outdoor watches.
The strap is called “Tapered Heritage” and “Tapered Nubuck” to emphasize the tapering. It is tapered 4mm from lug end to buckle end. This is probably to give it that vintage feel as most vintage straps are tapered 2mm on each side. The models I have here are 20mm models and they taper to 16mm at the buckle end.
Here are some other features of the strap:
– White contrasting stitches at the lug end and buckle end
– Quick release spring bars
– Water resistant back that is marked “KVARNSJÖ Leather Sweden”.
– Heavy stainless steel buckle with polished finishing.

I have the Tapered Heritage model on my Tissot Heritage Petite Seconde and Longines Big Eye as it is suitable for both dress watches and sporty watches.
The Tapered Nubuck is suitable for military/pilot style watches as mentioned earlier. I installed them on my Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical and Oris Big Crown.
