Riki Watanabe Collection – AKPA403

Here’s a recent automatic model from the Riki Watanabe Collection. This model is very similar to the quartz models that were released a while ago. There are three colour variants namely white (AKPA401, AKPA404), black (AKPA402) and the cream colour model (AKPA403) feature here. It is also my favourite among the three.

Here’s a quick photo review.

Seiko 5 50th Anniversary – SSA167J

Here’s another Seiko 5 50th Anniversary model that I handled recently. This model is characterized by its crown at the 12 o’clock position. It reminds me of the Spacewalk Sring Drive model and the Izul models even though it is not a chronograph watch. Some people call it “bullhead” while others call it “unicorn”.

Here’s a quick look.

Watches I Saw – Seiko 5 Models

Some new Seiko 5 models I saw recently. Shown above is the Mini Monster. These are not exactly new. They have been released in the past using the 7S36 movement. This time, Seiko upgraded them with the 4R36 movement and changed up the colours in them. They are distributed by Thong Sia and seen at both K2 and H2 Hub (Parkway Parade). The model above is the SRP481K. Below are a few more variants.

Seiko Mechanical – SARG005

Seiko has discontinued a number of 6R15 models and at the same time released a couple of new models using the same movement. This time round, I had the opportunity to handle a recent model from the Mechanical line. This model, SARG005 is powered by the 6R15 movement and looks very much like the 6R15 Alpinist model due to its case shape, inner compass bezel and crown at the 4 o’clock position.

I like the Orient Star Classic Automatic and have gotten the EL05004W from the local distributor, Big Time. This particular piece however is not available at Big Time because it is only available in the Japanese market.

A friend of mine got it from Japan for me recently and here are some pictures to share with you.

Watch Purchase: Orient Bambino – ER2400BW

Here are some pictures of my new Orient Bambino. This is a new Roman dial variant that was released in October 2013.

I have posted a review of the Bambino when I bought the original version – ER24005W. The new Roman dial variant uses the same case, caseback, movement and leather strap. The following parts are different from the original version:

1. Dial
2. Hands
3. Crown
4. Some variants come with a mesh bracelet instead of the leather strap.

Here are some pictures of the watch. Link to my Bambino review is at the bottom of this post.
