This time round I had the opportunity to handle the Orient Star Vintage Skeleton model WZ0021DX. This model is powered by the 48E51 handwind movement which is made in Japan. It is limited to 500 pieces, available in Japan as well as other parts of the world through international distributors.

This watch is called Vintage Skeleton probably because it has a vintage style case and crown design. It also has the vintage Orient Star logo (shown in picture below) at the 12 o’clock position.

The power reserve indicator sub-dial is located at the 12 o’clock position while the second hand sub-dial at 6 o’clock. Watch comes with a set of blue hands.

The dial is cut at the center to show the movement. From the power reserve indicator, you can see that the watch has 50 hours of power reserve when fully wound.

The watch comes with see-through caseback showing the movement. The serial number in “XXX/500” format is also engraved on the caseback.

Here’s a side profile shot. The watch is fitted with a slightly curved sapphire crystal and comes with signed crown.

It comes with a nicely padded, genuine crocodile strap and Orient Star buckle.
