Seiko Prospex Limited Edit Sumo – SPB192J1

This time round, I had the opportunity to handle the Seiko limited edition Sumo, SPB192J1. This watch is limited to 1200 pieces and is only available in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Hong Kong and Macau. These are territories covered by the distributor, Thong Sia Co.

The Seiko Sumo has been around for many years and several regular and limited edition models have been released over the years. This particular one features a brown textured dial, pink gold bezel and hands, as well as a black and red bezel insert. Some people are calling it “root beer” although its design is actually inspired by the Hawksbill Turtle.

Seiko King Turtle – SRPE05K1

Posting some pictures of the Seiko King Turtle SRPE05K1. This is the King Turtle that I like in recent years because it is not that flashy. The olive green dial gives the Seiko Turtle a military feel. It would be better if there’s no texture on the dial, no cyclops on the crystal and comes with an aluminum bezel insert instead of a ceramic one.

This time round I had the opportunity to try out the Ballistic Nylon Staff Sergeant Zulu strap by vario.sg. This is the same Ballistic nylon strap that I have reviewed before. The only difference is there is a staff sergeant badge stitched on it. You can view my review of the regular Ballistic Nylon Zulu strap by vario.sg in the link below:

Seiko Prospex PVD Sumo – SPB125J1

Had the opportunity to handle the Seiko Prospex PVDed Sumo SPB125J1 recently. This is a fairly new Sumo variant that is powered by the 6R35 movement. I have owned several colour variants of the 6R15 version in the past and besides having a new movement, I notice the numbers on the bezel look more normal with the use of a thinner font.

Seiko Presage “Sharp Edged Series” – SPB165J1 and SPB167J1

This time round I had the opportunity to handle two specimens from the Seiko Presage “Sharp Edged Series”. They are the white dialed SPB165J1 and blue dialed SPB167J1. This Presage model has a nice textured dial and a simple case design. If you are not ready to purchase a Grand Seiko, you might want to consider this watch as an appetizer before pulling the trigger on a GS.
