Orient M-Force 200m Diver – EL03002M

The Orient M-Force diver finally hit the Singapore market and I had the opportunity to handle them this weekend.

This is a 200m diver’s watch that is ISO compliant and comes with features like hack and handwind movement, sapphire crystal and power reserve. The watch comes in three colour variants namely black (EL03001B), blue (EL03001D) and orange which is featured in this post.

Orient EJ02003W – International model with hack and handwind

Here’s a new Orient Power Reserve model that was released in 2011. Orient is known for their power reserve feature and offers it in a wide range of their product lines including Royal Orient, Orient Star, divers and other sports watches.

Orient X STI 2010 Limited Edition II – SFD0H001B

This time round, I had the opportunity to handle yet another Orient X STI limited edition watch. This model is the second limited edition for the 2010 Nürburgring 24-hour Race. On their website, this watch is referred to as “Orient X SRI 2010 Limited Edition II” but within the Orient network, it is called “Orient X STI Stage II”.

Orient 60th Anniversary Quartz Model – SUND4002W


Orient celebrated its 60th Anniversary this year. Besides the 60th Anniversary handwind models, there was also a pair of quartz ‘Swimmer’ models released in the Thailand to commemorate the event.

The Orient Swimmer is a basic quartz watch that features 100m water resistance and a screw in crown. This product line is sold in the Japanese market but the Thai Orient distributor made arrangement to produce a 60th anniversary model for the Thailand market. Like the handwind models, the commemorative Swimmer model has the “Orient 60th Anniversary” printed on its dial in cursive font.

Orient CEM6V001B – Close Cousin of the Orient Star SOMES

Fans of JDM Orient watches are probably familiar with the Orient SOMES by now. It is nicknamed “Orient SOMES” because the leather strap was made by SOMES, a Japanese horse riding equipment manufacturer.

Recently, my local Orient distributor brought the lesser known cousin of the Orient SOMES into the local market. I’ve got a specimen here so let me post some pictures of it and perhaps owners of the Orient SOMES can tell me how similar the two watches are.
