There are three colour variants of this model available in the Japanese market but only two were made available in the international market. Seiko Kinetic Diver – SKA579P2

This time round, I had the opportunity to handle this Seiko Kinetic diver which was released a few months ago in Singapore. This watch looks familiar because the standard black, pepsi, yellow and orange variants have been released a few years ago and have been nicknamed “BFK” aka Big Freaking Kinetic by collectors online. These BFK variants were powered by the 5M62 movement while the latest variants came with the newer 5M82 movement.

Orient Pocket Watch – DD00002W

In case you haven’t notice, Orient has released a new variant to its mechanical pocket watch line. The new variant features full Roman dial and comes with Sapphire crystal on both front and back.

Pictorial Review: Orient Classic Automatic – EZ09003B

For those who like elegant looking watches with sub-dials, Seiko has the SARC/SARW models and Orient has the Orient Star Retrograde models. For something more affordable, there are a number of Orient Classic Automatic models to consider and here is a recent model. It comes with power reserve, date and second hand sub-dials, and is fitted with Sapphire crystal. This model also appears on the Orient 2014 calendar (December page).
