In this post, I continue to review the straps that I received from strapsco.com. The model reviewed here is the Strapsco Distressed Leather Strap. Samples I have are in grey and tan colours and they are all 20mm models.
Let’s take a look.
This strap is made from distressed leather that is soft and supple. The surface of the strap is matte finished and has a textured feel similar to that of the suede leather. However, it does not have the raised fibres that you usually see on the suede leather. I find that the distressed surface together with the stitches at the lug ends and tip of the strap give it a unique vintage and aged styling, especially on the grey coloured model.
The long end measures 115mm while the short end is 75mm excluding the buckle. It has close to 3mm thickness and comes with a pair of regular spring bars.
The strap tapers 2mm from the lug end to the buckle end. My 20mm models taper to 18mm at the buckle.
The strap is layered with soft leather at the back for comfort and moisture resistance.
I have these straps installed on my Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical. This watch is modelled after the military watches made by the company in the 60s. The Strapsco Distressed Leather Strap helps to bring out the ruggedness and vintage feel of the watch.
Final thoughts:
Overall, I find that the Distressed Leather Strap by strapsco.com is good quality strap. It is very soft and comfortable to wear and has a vintage and aged feel that not only go well with vintage style watches but will also add a little character to modern style watches.
