Special Edition Seiko Monster – SRPF35K1

Had the opportunity to check out the latest Seiko Monster, the SRPF35K1. This watch has a black PVD body and a striking yellow dial with black minute chapter ring. It is a Special Edition that comes on an olive green silicon strap and has the words “Special Edition” engraved on its caseback.

Seiko Diver 55th Anniversary – SLA043J1

This time round I checked out the Seiko Prospex SLA043J1, one out of a series of dive watches released to commemorate the 55th Anniversary of Seiko divers. This model is inspired by Seiko’s first diver, the 62MAS released in 1965. It is powered by the 8L35 movement and is limited to 1700 pieces.

Seiko Prospex PVD Sumo – SPB125J1

Had the opportunity to handle the Seiko Prospex PVDed Sumo SPB125J1 recently. This is a fairly new Sumo variant that is powered by the 6R35 movement. I have owned several colour variants of the 6R15 version in the past and besides having a new movement, I notice the numbers on the bezel look more normal with the use of a thinner font.

Seiko 4R36 Shrouded Divers aka Seiko Scallop

Thong Sia released a limited edition Seiko Scallop with green dial in June 2017. It is nice that they have introduced a limited edition model, just like what the distributor in Thailand has been doing. Thong Sia’s limited edition Scallop is called the Green Sea Turtle and it is the seventh variant of the Seiko Scallop family. Aside from the SRPA47J that was released in Thailand, the rest of the six variants are sold here in Singapore. The Scallop is a 200m diver that has a steel case shrouded by a ceramic shroud.

Cellphone Shots of the Seiko SBDX016

Saw the limited edition edition SBDX016 at Big Time yesterday, This watch is limited to 700 pieces and is produced as a commemorative watch for the 50th Anniversary of Seiko divers.

This watch has a rose gold shroud with polished finishing. Not sure how scratch resistance is this but the seller has to put a plastic wrapper around it to prevent it from getting scratched.
