Seiko 4R57 Cocktail Time – SSA363J Sakura Hubuki

I managed to get hold of the Seiko Presage Cocktail Time, SSA363J “Sakura Hubuki” for photo taking. This watch is limited to 3500 pieces and is basically the same watch as the earlier model with sunburst dial except it has a different dial texture. I have reviewed one of the sunburst dial models (link at the bottom of this post) so this post will be a quick photo review of the Sakura Hubuki model.

Seiko 4R35 Cocktail Time – SRPB47J

I bought this Seiko Cocktail Time and thought it would be nice to do a blog post on it and its predecessor, the SARB065.

The Cocktail Time models were first introduced in the Japan domestic market and came with the 6R15 movement. They were offered under the Mechanical line with the most popular model being the SARB065. The 6R Cocktail Time models were however discontinued and new 4R based models were announced during Basel World 2017. These 4R Cocktail Time models have a similar design as their 6R predecessors but are powered by the 4R35 and 4R57 movements. They are no longer JDM models and are sold worldwide under the Presage line.

– gold coloured rotor
– lugs slope downwards
– bracelet has solid end links

Here are some JDM Seiko and Orient watches I saw at Big Time on 15th Feb 2014 (Saturday). Shown above is the Seiko Presage SARW011. Those who missed the 100th years of watchmaking limited edition SARW005 may want to consider this piece. It is powered by the 6R27 movement.

Seiko Presage – SARX015

Here is a recent Japan domestic Presage model that I handled. This model is powered by the 6R15 movement and comes in black and whte dial variants.

Many Seiko watches out there are considered poor man’s Grand Seiko but I think this model is really the true PMGS. Here are my reasoning:

100 Years of Watchmaking Limited Edition Presage – SRP385J

Which Seiko watch is Seiko fans in Singapore buying these days? Answer is the SRP385J, a limited edition Presage model. This watch is powered by the 4R36 movement and comes with flat sapphire crystal. It’s dial will remind you of the 1913 Laurel, the first wrist watch made by Seiko.

Before I show you more pictures of the SRP385J, here’s a picture of the 1913 Laurel taken by me at the Seiko 130th Anniversary exhibition in Singapore.

Seiko JDM Presage – SARX001

Had the opportunity to handle the new JDM Presage model, SARX001. Most Presage models are powered by different variants of the 4R movement. This model however is powered by the 6R15C movement.

The workmanship and finishing of this watch is similar to that of the 6R15 cocktail time models. One area which surpassed the previous 6R15 models is probably the dial and hour markers which stood out well to grabbed my attention.

Here are some pictures.
