Here is the latest Orient Sun and Moon model that I handled recently. It has a Sun and Moon sub-dial on the dial which acts as a AM/PM indicator. When setting the time, this features serves as a guide. For example, when you want to set the time to 4pm, the Sun should shown on the sub-dial since it is daytime.

Had the opportunity the check out the Seiko Prospex Kinetic GMT divers at K2 recently. The three models I handled are SUN019P, SUN021P and SUN023P. They are big, thick and heavy, and will dwarf almost any Seiko diver you put next to them except the big tunas (SD and Emperor). They are powered by the 5M85 Kinetic movement and the GMT hand can be set independently.
I do not know the diameter but I do know that the lug width is 24mmm. Here are the pictures I took.

Here’s an aviator style Seiko 5 that was released recently. It comes with slide rule bezel and features a red tipped “aircraft” second hand. It is powered by the 4R36 movement with hack and handwind feature.

Among the new Seiko 5 models released recently is the SRP605K shown above. There are several colour variants but this blue dialed model seems to be the nicest among them all. It has a matching blue bezel and the outline on the hands and hour marker are gold. A nice colour combination in my opinion.

This time round I had the opportunity to handle this international model Orient GMT – DJ05003W. This watch has a very good built quality and I believe it is one of the top models (excluding Orient Star of course) among the models that are being offered in the international market. The watch comes with a hack and handwind movement and the GMT hand can be set independently. This is the second Orient GMT model under the DJ series. First model was the DJ02003W from 2011.

Saw a couple of new Orient watches at Big Time today. Shown above is the 2014 Orient Speedtech X Subaru BRZ GT300 2014 limited edition model. This is a quartz chronograph and is limited to 1000 pieces worldwide.

Saw a couple of new Seiko 5 models in the local market including the SRP625K shown above. This watch is powered by the 4R36 movement and has a matte finished case. It is pretty big at 44mm excluding crown. Unlike other Seiko 5’s of this size, this one does not seem to have an over-sized minute chapter ring. It looks proportional to the size of the watch.

This time round I had the chance to look at the Orient Star Open Heart Tonneau, model number DAAA002T. This model is available in both the Japanese and the international market. It’s model number in Japan is WZ0131DA. Main features of this watch besides the open heart and tonneau shaped case are power reserve indicator, display back and sapphire crystal (front) with anti-reflective coating.
