This time round I handled the Seiko PADI Sumo, SPB181J1 which was released in around Dec 2020/Jan 2021. If I’m not wrong, this is the second PADI Sumo released by Seiko. The first one was the SBDC049 that has a blue bezel with “fat” numerals. The current model has a Pepsi bezel with slimmed down numerals. It is also updated with the 6R35 movement.

The JDM Seiko Sumo has always been one of the best finished/quality vs value for money ISO certified 200m divers watch on the market for many yrs now.
Seiko now offer it with Sapphire Crystal & 70hrs power reserve from the 6R35 movement, this has made a great watch even more outstanding, if your on the fence you really must handle a Sumo in the flesh to truly appreciate em’.
I only just placed an order for a new Seiko PADI Sumo, this will be my 2nd Sumo.

Same with me, i’ve order also this PADI Sumo, this is my 2nd Sumo, the 1st one is the Green Sumo,,,bottomline i love Sumos:-)
