This time round, I am looking at a recraft model from Seiko. This model was released in Singapore in November/December 2017. There are several variants and I managed to get three of them for this post. They are the SRPC13K (ss case with blueish green dial), SRPC15K (black case with black dial), and SRPC16K (gold case with brown dial). There are at least two more variants not shown in this post.
This watch has a 70’s style cushion case which reminds me of the vintage Seiko models with similar case shape. Two such models that I can remember are the 6119-6400 and the 6106-6439 which I believe is the watch shown in the catalog photo below. I believe these models were in production from the late 60’s into the 70’s. The new recraft model is probably modeled after the 6106-6439 although they are not exactly the same.
In the past, Seiko divers had 150m water resistance while sport divers were rated to 70m. Today, it is 200m and 100m respectively. The 6106-6439 was positioned as a sports diver with its 70m water resistance, inner rotating bezel and Hardlex crystal.
The recraft model has 100m water resistance and Hardlex crystal. However, the inner ring is just an over-sized minute index ring that does not rotate. It is therefore a recraft that is aesthetically similar to the 6106-6439 but not intended for the same purpose.
There are a number of similarities between the recraft model and the 6106-6439. First, the case is similar in shape and size. The 6106-6439 is 43mm from what I read online and so is the recraft model. The hour markers, hands and day/date window are also very similar to the 6106. Lastly, the recraft model also has a painted black ring surrounding the crystal (white painted ring for the SRPC15K).
The differences are the inner rotating bezel as mentioned above, the display back on the recraft model, the size of the crown and the bracelet/strap.

All three variants shown here are limited edition models as indicated on their case backs (see pictures below). However, they have standard Seiko serial number format that do not indicate the total number of pieces produced.
