Seiko’s SARG series has been quite well received by Seiko fans. I personally own the SARG007 and SARG009. Here’s the latest in the SARG series, the SARG017.
The design of this model reminds me of the Sports 150 watches that Seiko made during the “SQ” era. This watches usually have bezel with slim insert, slim hour markers and hands.
Here are two examples I found from my own site.
The SARG017 reminds me of these watches but it is by no means a Sports 150. The bezel does not rotate and crown does not screw in. Water resistance is 10 bar.
Below is a dial shot. There are lume dots next to the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock hour markers. The hour and minute hands are also lumed.
The case is very nicely finished. The best among the SARG models so far.
The watch comes with curved sapphire crystal.
It has slim lugs with nice curvature.
It is fitted with leather strap and a deployant buckle. Personally, I feel that a tang buckle would be more suitable for a sporty watch like this.
Here are a few more shots.
Diameter: 42.2mm excluding crown
Lug width: 20mm
Lug to lug: 49.6mm
Water resistance: 10 bar
