Orient has added another classic style model to its international collection. The watch together with the CER1P004B0 that I handled previously are two of those mid range models that you will not find on their website. After handling these two watches and a couple of others that I have posted previously, I get the impression that Orient is bringing up the quality of its watches across the board.
Now let me take a quick look this watch.
This watch has a minimalistic case design with thin lugs and a not so beefy body.
The crystal is slightly curved and has “legs” at the side. The dial underneath the crystal appears to be curved due to the visual effect created by the crystal.
This model that I handled has a black dial with Roman hour markers. Each hour marker is accompanied by a minute marking in Arabic numeral. The dial is matched with a set of classic style hands.
The size of the crown matches the thin case and lugs very well. It is not big but easy to grip nevertheless.
The watch has a display back that shows its movement. Below is a picture of the inscriptions on the rotor.
The “48749 Japan” inscription probably means the watch is powered by Orient calibre 48749 which is made in Japan. There are also some ‘Tokyo stripes’ on the rotor. The watch itself is probably cased in China.
The watch comes with a very well made solid link bracelet with folding clasp and push button lock. It tapers to 18mm at the buckle.
Diameter: 39mm excluding crown
Thickness: approx 11.5mm
Lug width: 20mm
Movement does not hack or handwind.
There is no specific water resistance rating for this watch. It simply says “Water Resistant” on the caseback.
