Orient has released a 3rd Bambino variant. This model features long and slim hour markers with slim hour and minute hands. It still has that classic look and somewhat reminds me of the Max Bill by Junghans.
On this watch, the hour markers at 3,6,9 and 12 o’clock are applied while the rest are printed directly onto the dial. Other things to note are:
1. It has the same crown as the original Bambino (no longer onion shaped).
2. leather strap without grain.

Can I ask, is the dial blue, and are the lugs still 21mm?

I like the new dial, but prefer the sword hands on the older models.

True, but wide, rectangle shaped hands looks very unaesthetic. Max Bill hands are sharper at the end, other example of watch with similar hour markers and more appopriate hands is Hamilton Intra-Matic.

Yes, would be good if they make the hands slimmer and make the ends sharp. Most importantly, make the minute hand longer.

The sword hands look good on the wz0011dd (I got that watch after seeing it on your site), which has similarly slim applied markers. I do agree with your comment below that the minute hand should be longer, on this watch as well as on wz0011dd.

Pretty good looking. I love the Bambinos, I just wish they came out with a 36mm version, which I think will go better with the whole “mid-century dress watch” look they are inspired by.

They have the Orient Star classic at 38.5mm and the Orient Star handwind at 37.5mm. Of course, it would be good to have a smaller version of the Bambino.

What we can not see from the pics, the length of the minute hand matches exactly (or maybe not?) the long hr index of 3/6/9/12. Then I would rather have the hands shaped like the markets for the perfect match.

I want one. I hope they offer an automatic in steel with a light colored dial, like white or silver. Anxiously waiting for them to hit the market.

I don’t see any light dials in steel auto.
Is it grey or black because they list it as black.
