Saw a couple of new Seiko and Orient models this week at Big Time.
Shown above is the Seiko X Cotton Club model, SDGC030. It is a Brightz model that is powered by the 6R21 movement and is limited to 500 pieces. The movement beats at 28,800bph and features a power reserve sub-dial as well as pointed day and date. It comes with sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. It is fitted with a crocodile band with folding buckle.
Here are the other models.
Below are two affordable dress watches that are powered by the 4R36 movement. They may be available as international models as well but these JDM models come with Kanji day display.

Here are two ladies models to pair up with the two men’s models above. They are also powered by the 4R36 model and come with Kanji day display.

Next, we have the Orient M-force. This is the 2014 model, the 4th model since the M-force name was revived. Only the black dial variant is available at the moment. I will be putting up a separate post on this watch soon.
Last but not least, two tonneau shaped Orient dress watches with open heart.

Bro, want to ask you about orient mako, with blue crown. Is it limitedly available? And it seems to have no saphire glass, can you point me what is the specialty of Mako’s series? One good thing is it looks like Rolex. 🙂

Sorry, I’m not aware of this watch. Can you give me a link to it?
I think the Mako is a basic sports watch with 200m water resistance. It is suitable for people who prefer smaller sporty watches.

Its Mako classic em65002e, cem65002d, fem65002d the ref I got from instagram. It has blue crown, and resembles rolex. Only that its not saphire crystal.

Unfortunately, I have yet to come across this mako that you mentioned. You sure it has blue crown?

I like the first Seiko model but the rest of the Seikos are cursed with the shiny plastic chapter ring disease. I don’t know why this is lately so pervasive in Seiko’s range. imagine how good these models would look if the dials all simply filled the case like the Cotton Club model does. SMH.

These Orients are what you are looking for. No minute chapter rings.

None of the new dress Seikos work for me, because i have a feeling seiko increased the size of their new models but left the hands from the older smaller models, so they look out of place

I find the hands reasonable on the Seiko dress watches. For example, the minute hand is long enough to reach beyond the hour markers.
