I had the opportunity to handle a Brightz Phoenix chronograph by Seiko. There were several colour variants under this design and they were supposed to replace the older 8R28 models. Most of them were limited to either 500 or 700 pieces. This model is limited to 700 pieces.

Besides the stainless steel bracelet, the watch also comes with a high quality strap fitted with deployant buckle.

WOW!! at first it looked alot like a Omega Speedmaster but scrolling down and looking at the bevel on the bezel and the curve of the lugs, this is a very neat design. I want one!!!! Great photography, thanks SAM

I like the design of the lugs very much and I think the leather strap would make them stand out even more.

Any Idea what dial colors or any other variations will be available? A white dial with black registers would be killer!

AFAIK, there are only 3 models in the Brightz Phoenix line that have this case design. They are SAGK011, 013 and 015. None of them are white dial.
There is a white dial model in the Ananta line but unfortunately it doesn’t have black registers. Model# is SAEK009.

Great pictures, Thomas. Sized right at 43mm, though lugs could have been bumped up to 22mm. At 21mm, you can expect a lot of owners trying to fit in and notching their 22mm straps. Optional croc leather is definitely the winning combination for this model. Just outscores the stainless bracelet IMHO. Hmmm, I would have preferred dial design to be more balanced…..not sure why the constant seconds sub dial is without the silver border. Quite odd to have it this way.

Agree with you that the 21mm lug width is kind of odd. Good thing is, it came with a quality strap so owners would not have to purchase their own. Regarding the sub dials, I guess the purpose of having the silver border is to help owners identify those two as the chronograph registers. I notice that in the 8R28 Velatura, the designer used blue and red colours to achieve this.

The SRQ001 was announced during Basel World 2008 and launched in the same year. Movement is 8R28, same as the Brightz Phoenix.

hi, anyone knows the price for the range of Seiko Brightz Phoenix chronograph?
i am trying to get an automatic chronograph and the Seiko Brightz Phoenix chronograph really looks stunning… just hope it is not too expensive that would go beyond my budget…

I believe the Brightz Phoenix chronographs have been discontinued. Check out the Seiko Ananta chronographs instead.
